Hi guys
Just got this letter through the door and have now started to panic.
I ignored all the parking letters and thought this court letter would never be a thing.
I basically parked in drop off area in a new build flat complex at night. Then I ran to the store, and I believe I went over the time.I don't remember seeing a sign though or might just be because it was quite dark and misty.
I'm not sure how to go about with this.
Should I just pay or contact them for a better price or fight it.
I don't have a lots of free time in my day so not sure if fighting will be very time consuming.
Please help thanks

Nobody on here will tell you to pay the scammers.
Please read the ' Newbies ' thread for excellent step by step help and advice on how to deal with this.
Also read lots and lots of other threads to help you understand how the game you are now caught up in works.
Panicking not allowed3 -
Even if you lost in court, it would cost you less than the amount being claimed because the fake add on £70 is not allowed, and has been referred to by the government as an attempt to extort money.
In other words, it is worth fighting.
PLan A is always a complaint to the landowner, and it is never too late to do that.
The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed nearly ten years ago, so you have been given very bad and out of date advice. Now you are here now though, you will get the best and most up to date advice there is available, and it's all for free.
Read the fifth post of the NEWBIES first where you will find a list of acronyms and abbreviations used on this forum, then read guide to court written by bargepole that you find in the second post of the NEWBIES Announcement. This is a step by step guide that will take you through every stage right up to the court hearing.
The first step is to complete your AoS. You want to defend the whole claim, and you do not want to contest jurisdiction.
DO NOT put anything in the defence box. You will send that be email later once you have read and modified the template defence in one of the other sticky Announcements.

With a Claim Issue Date of 6th April, you have until Monday 25th April to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 9th May 2022 to file your Defence. That's four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
Thanks, guys
The replies have been so helpful.
I have followed the second post and;
-Emailed parking control management asking for SAR.
-Emailed Gladstones telling them I am seeking debt advice and putting the case on hold.
-Completed the Acknowledgment of Service.
So the next step is my defense.
How long does a reply for the SAR normally take?
Did I miss anything so far guys?
I am starting to feel more confident about this whole thing now, Some of the information on the newbie is a bit confusing with all the.
will also appreciate any other links that might help me.0 -
