Are you certain your IHD won't show you both? Mine does, but you need to go into a sub-menu to find the cubic metre data.Sterlingtimes said:

Got smart meters here (SMETS1), and have changed suppliers a couple of times without problem. The meters went in to dumb mode after the first switch, so I've been submitting manual readings ever since - Having an IHD means I don't have to go scrambling around in the dark to read the meters, I can do it from the comfort of my chair.leopoldo_2 said: I assume that, at worst, this would simply mean going back to taking readings yourself? Or is that no longer possible?0 -
Had SMETS1 smart meters installed by BG in 2017. As soon as I left them, the meters went dumb and BG remotely disabled the IHD, because of GDPR if you want to believe BG!Went through various switches and ended up with Eon Next last September and last month I received an unexpected electricity statement from them, showing they had obtained a smart meter reading. The reading was accurate and when I tried my IHD, it connected. IHD shows gas and electricity, but Eon are not getting gas readings. Maybe they will start getting gas readings, but I'm not that bothered - at least I can read the meters from the IHD to submit my monthly readings.

Yup. Have to go to a sub-menu conveniently labeled "meters", and then select either gas or electricity to see the current units used (KWh or m³).Ultrasonic said:

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
