Marston Recovery/London Borough of Redbridge

Hi all,

This, to me at least, is an odd scenario. Over a year ago (Feb 21), my car was wrote off and ultimately settled by the insurance company - monies paid to finance company etc, all resolved without issue.

Around late August/early September, I started receiving a number of PCN's for the vehicle from various places in and around London - Dartford Crossing, Redbridge, north London etc etc, bearing in mind that I live in the midlands.

One such PCN was from London Borough of Redbridge, notifying me that a vehicle, yes the vehicle that had been written off had been photographed in a hatched box zone. I obviously appealed all of the PCN's - all of which were accepted. On 30th March, I received a letter from 'Marston Recovery Group' who wrote to tell me they were taking enforcement action with regards to the above. I emailed the same day to tell them the situation with no response received.

Yesterday (Sunday 10th April), I received a note from an Enforcement Officer through the door (hand delivered as I was out) telling me I now owed £520! I have contacted their office and explained again, only to be told it is only the enforcement officer who can deal with this. I contacted him and told him the scenario - he was actually reasonably helpful but is advising me to pay the £520 and appeal to have it refunded.

Where do I stand with this? The DVLA have confirmed that I am a 'previous owner' of the vehicle, but the chap is threatening to revisit every 48 hours (!!) which seems entirely unreasonable to me.

Thanks in advance.
