cannot access hotmail

today 14 december 2007 I can't access my hotmail account

keep getting :
ERROR

[FONT=verdana,sans-serif]Due to an internal error your request cannot be processed. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.If you are attempting to reactivate your account, we're sorry but your request cannot be processed at this time.
Please do the following:

• Close all web browser windows.
• Restart your web browser.
• Return to http://www.hotmail.com to sign in.

[/FONT]has anyone had this?
any advise please as i'm little worried and don't really know who to ask.

Had this a few times and cant sign in from messenger but my live mail works no problem

I an having huge problems with hotmail for a couple of days now and it is driving me crazy!! I've had the same password and username for years and all of a sudden it is not working. Any ideas - PLEASE!!

Could you be more specific....?? Is it telling you your password/username is incorrect or is it just giving page errors??

hi - ive had tons of problems with hotmail - it just keeps changing the address in the address bar but never actually loads a page...i think its to do with my browser though (safari on an apple laptop). I just switched browsers (use firefox for hotmail only now) and no problems...

It keeps telling me that my username or password are incorrect - they are not as they have been the same for years! I do notice that I am in this windows live edition - does that make a difference and how can I get back to normal hotmail? Unfortunately I had not assigned an alternaive e-mail address - although I nopw have one I cannot get in to add it. It does ask me for the anwser to a question and when I give it the anwser it does not like that either!

Yep, i have exactly the same problem, I might have forgotten my password but even then it tells me it has sent my password to my hotmail account!!!lol

I have the same issue.
The VERY ALARMING news is that shortly after my access was 'refused' (after having had the same account and password for 7 years) my ebay account was hi-jacked. My password changed and I was locked out. Then items were listed for sale on my account.

I cannot remember my secret answer as it does NOT show the question.
I have re-set my password - but it sends it to my Hotmail account that I cannot access (but I guess the scammer can???).

It may be unconnected - but I got two bits of junk mail through the post today - addressed to J Smith (NOT me!). I never normally get junk mail, so it makes me VERY suspicious.

I'm in the process of changing all my passwords for all my accounts etc....

This is a MAJOR hassle - but best to be secure. I have taken money out of a couple of accounts (like Paypal and moved them into my main account).

Given that I'm not the only one with this issue...Is this a MAJOR SECURITY BREACH?

My account was a .com account (not a .co.uk....as it was not an option when I set the account up)

Has anyone figured out how to get back in to the account? I have reported to MSN - but they have not responded as yet?

Are you running IE? I loaded Firefox onto my pc and can now get into Hotmail. I started getting issues after a security update and have been unable to resolve it. Firefox allows me to get into hotmail ok now.

Hi - Thanks for the reply.

My account had been hi-jacked by someone in Beijing - who then hijacked my eBay account and listed a load of IBM laptops!!!!

It took me a week to sort everything out, they also had a go at my Paypal and share dealing accounts:mad:

I have now upgraded my security even further and have added in a separate e mail address and will change my password more often now.

I have had my hotmail.com address for 10years and not had a problem - until last week!
