  • Wasnt there a warranty on them when you bought them? Also damage to paving caused by pressure / jet washing will void your warranty.

You mention in your OP @stevio that these “flags” are concrete, are you saying that you thought they were real stone when you bought them? You didn’t look at them as they were being laid? The photos you posted look exactly what I’d expect paving slabs to look like after 6 months. The green is algae, which usually comes over winter when it’s damp and dark, it washes off with an  application of stone cleaner and some elbow grease, or a pressure washer. The one with the pores is not good, but I expect those have been there from the beginning - very doubtful that they will just have formed.

Hi Archie, you're not telling me it's normal for the flags to go white or for red to appear?

No, I knew they were made out of concrete.

The pores have only just appeared.

There are no Pores, red marks, discolouration, whitening on the display model. That's what they are advertising!

    Thanks.

Hi Deleted_User, Good point about the warranty.

Surely, you’re not saying that you cannot jet wash the flags. Every single person, garden centre etc I know does.
If they won't stand up to a jet wash now and again, they certainly are not fit for purpose are they lol.

    Cheers!

Those were my thoughts exactly.  The only one I thought was bad was the one with pores.  A jet wash should sort the rest out.

Interestingly when we chose our kitchen, utility and engineered flooring I specified as many knots and strange colour variations as possible.  If a floor or slabs are perfect any blemish can stand out a mile, but each to their own.

Hi Flight, I know about algae. If you think these red stains/marks will wash off and the flags that are now going white will be rectified with a jet wash. Then you are more than welcome to come and show me.
    Cheers!
