Thanks for your responses . The concern is that a medical cabinet should not have been above her bed.
Yes I do have a power of Attorney. She suffers from dementia , hence the reason why she is in a home.
You're still being rather vague... Are you considering legal action against the home because they were negligent in locating the cabinet where they did?
Have you asked the home the reason the cabinet was near/above her bed and whether they'd done a health and safety risk assessment? (I'd be very surprised if they hadn't.)  Is it in the same location in other rooms in the home? Do you know what caused it to fall off the wall?
By the way, I'm sure you already know (and both medical and legal professionals certainly do) but even the most minor impact can cause a "huge bruise" in the elderly, particularly women.

Do you visit your Mum in her bedroom?
How often have you been in her bedroom?
Did you not recognise the possibility of the cabinet falling off the wall yourself?

Your first post says the cabinet was 'near her bed'.

Now you are saying it was above the bed.

If it was above the bed it would have fallen on the bed which it didn't since it didn't directly hit your mother  who was sitting on the bed.
