Olinda99 said:Also, you should be be able to see meter readings, daily usage etc when you log onto your online electricity account. So there may be no need to view the actual physical meters. It is not common to be able to see daily meter readings online with smart meters, you can typically see your daily use though. If the IHD is working then they will usually show the current total import reading but they will not usually show day/night registers on E7 for example.

I would not worry too much about energy costs if it is a well insulated modern new build, or at least not in comparison to anywhere else. I live in an all electric flat, 116 sqm two bed to give you a size comparison. I live alone, shower every at least every day, sometimes twice, use the dishwasher, laundry, work from home 3-4 days as week and for most of the last two years worked from home 4-5 days a week, my annual usage is currently 4,900 kWh per year and that will drop for people who are home less, I also use some fairly powerful PC kit for work so I can easily be getting through 5kWh per day just from that.samps1973 said:Yeah that's what I'm worried about, Its a new build and only has electricity throughout and the water is heated by immersion heater.
All electric is generally fine if the place is well insulated and you do not use an entire tank of hot water every day, in a poorly insulated/draughty place it would be very expensive though.2 -
If it's a SMART meter, the utility company will take daily readings.
You can use some apps to access the data the meter is reporting. One example is the Bright app.
When I lived in a block of flats, we didn't have access to the meters either but had to request readings from the management company..1 -
In my experience 'most' management companies or developers will give you the code for the door, especially with you living there
