Pre-paid Debit cards - any recommendations?

(Moved from the wrong section)
I am looking to get a pre-paid credit/debit card so can anyone recommend one for an adult and one for a child? I don't mind if they are different card companies.

I have read the article https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/prepaid-cards/ and it seems that the Tesco Bank Clubcard Pay+ is a good one but the information on sites doesn't seem to match.

Can I use Clubcard Pay+ to buy things in shops which are not Tescos i.e. go into a shop, stick my card in their card reader and enter a pin / tap on the card reader?

The pictures on the sites don't seem to show a name or account number on the card - is that right? I just wondered if shops would accept a card with no details on it.

Alternatively, does anyone recommend another pre-paid card?

Thanks

Yes you can. It's is like any ordinary debit card you would get with a basic bank account, accepted everywhere that accepts a debit card. You can't spend more than you have in the account / on the card.

The details don't need to be printed on a card - they can be encoded on the chip which is on the card. Though I seem to remember the card comes with your name, card number and expiry date printed on it, and may be even sort code and account number.

FWIW, I think the Clubcard Pay+ card is a nice card, easy to manage, and comes with the benefit of a little bit of cashback.

The Clubcard Pay+ card is only available to people who are 18 and over. For kids, you need a different card. Here are some pointers: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/jul/24/what-are-the-best-debit-cards-for-your-kids-to-spend-safely

The Chase account could work for you.
You can add the debit card to Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Plus you can have the card on more than one phone.
Plus instant notifications on you phone if data is on.
I think you can open the account and then open more accounts within the app.
1% cash back on spending with the card and 1.5% on their savings account.
Ive got the card on 2 android phones, it adds the card to your main phone on account setup.
Then added to wife’s phone and confirmed it via the app.

Why does it need to be pre paid card rather than a current account with a debit card?

You refer to wanting one for a child. The hyperjar prepaid card is free and allows an adult card to be linked to a child card and you have parental controls.

I have the hyperjar card (adult version) with the intention of getting one each for our kids, prior to them moving on to their own bank account. It doesn't have quite as many parent features as the Go Henry card, but Hyperjar is completely free. If these things become only possible with fees they fail to have much of an appeal or purpose over a bank account.
