Welcome to the forum. This is almost a FAQ now.Unless you're in a very special situation, mains gas is roughly a quarter the price of mains electricity. It will still be cheaper to heat your water with gas.Exceptions include households with electricity tariffs with especially cheap off-peak rates, eg. some tariffs intended for EV owners.N. For me the price has changed from electric being 4.8 times the price of gas down to 3.8 times so it still generally falls in the favour of gas. I did an experiment a few years back and found I was using 11 kWh per day heating the water so costing at today's rate around 82p which would power the immersion heater for around 1 hour.
