Does anyone know a provider for this please? We've just switched from copper to FTTP in order to upgrade from basic broadband to basic fibre. At no point did new provider tell us that we would lose access to telephone, the engineer said when he connected new cable that he would leave the old one up so that our telephone would still work. Online chat to Vodafone today confirmed that phone not working due to switch!
We hardly use it so not a massive problem. Bit for the occasions we do, is there a simple service we can access without having to buy VoIP phone?
This whole FTTP thing is so confusing!

You can just use an app such as Voiper. Do you have a VOIP service?0

What does having a VoIP service mean? Sorry!0

If you've got the Vodafone router, there's a telephone socket on the rear into which you can plug in a normal telephone.
We've got our DECT phone basestation plugged in and it works just the same as it ever did, although we do lose phone comms if or when we get power cuts (actually so did the DECT phones even when connected via copper pairs)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Ah, ok. I've looked at our telephone and the cable end is for old telephone socket. From what I can see, the router only has ethernet ports.0

One of the ports on the router should look slightly different, a smaller square plug than an ethernet port which is an RJ11 port and should be the same as the connector socket on the phone you have.
You can either get an RJ11 to RJ11 cable or convert the cable you currently have with a BT socket to RJ11 convertor.

Thanks for your help. I managed to get through to Vodafone today and just needed to plug the phone directly into the back of the router. All working fine. Vodafone online chat advice yesterday was rubbish!1
