Replacement Lenovo laptop battery

I have a Lenovo laptop just over 3 years old. It is beginning to show signs of holding less charge. Lenovo don't supply its battery. The only suppliers I can find have a limited number of very mixed reviews. The battery doesn't need to be replaced now but I will probably want/need to replace it in a years time.
If Lenovo were supplying new genuine batteries I would get on and replace it, being confident that run time would be improved and that it should last another 3 years. I am concerned that if I wait until I need to replace the battery there won't be any available even from the suppliers I have found.
Does anyone have any opinions? The battery is L16M4P60.

If it still works and lasts long enough to be usable then I wouldn't replace now.

Try to make the most of the remaining lifespan by following the guidelines for Li-ion batteries:

• Don't discharge below 20%
• Don't leave it fully charged at 100% for long periods
• Ideally keep it at average 40-80% charged
• Use a slower charging rate rather than fast charge
• Check the battery application or firmware settings as they can probably assist with the above
• Watch for signs of the "spicy pillow" and replace immediately if that happens

You are still likely to get a replacement battery easily enough for a laptop that is only 3 years in the next few years.

Plenty of genuine Lenovo batteries for sale on eBay and will be massively cheaper than going direct with Lenovo. I've bought a couple for my ancient Thinkpad X220 over the years and more recently one for my Thinkpad Carbon X1 5th gen on ebay (shipped from China) and they were the real deal. I'm sure you don't need reminding that Lenovo is a Chinese company, hence replacement parts will often be cheaper from China direct even after adding VAT/import/shipping charges.

I was tending to think this. I am of the ..... "If it ain't broke don't fix it" tendency. Just concerned that this particular battery may be less usual and become unavailable.

Plenty of sellers on eBay if you search for 'Lenovo L16M4P60'. If it says 'genuine Lenovo' in item description then almost 100% guaranteed that its a genuine Lenovo battery, at least that's from my own experience of buying Lenovo batteries on ebay for my 2 Thinkpads. A few sellers:
