Yesterday was a mostly lovely day. Bright sunshine, though very cold, on the way down to Glasgow. I went to Costco first and then my favourite patisserie for a couple of beautiful cakes for my host.My time with her was very interesting, we talked so much, I'm glad I agreed to go. On my way back I collected an order from Mountain Warehouse, a down gilet which was on sale at 70% 61% off. 😀 A gilet is something I'd wanted for a while so I'm chuffed with it. Meanwhile there was a series of sleet and hail showers, all fairly brief but intense. I was worried about the washing I'd left out on the line but it was dry so those showers must have missed here.Today I'm going to visit an old friend locally who needs some help to persuade his very stubborn wife to have a hip replacement. They're both in a bad way because of her refusal to even see a doctor, I think she's frightened more than anything.Last night there was a glorious sunset so I'm hoping for another good day.Ruby - I was sending you virtual hugs yesterday morning, I hope that all went well, as well as these things can be. 🌺
Camelot - were you resting yesterday??I'll catch up all the news from yesterday later. For now I'm back in bed with my coffee. ☕️My healing thoughts to our poorlies. Happy Saturday to everyone.13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's a fine dry start here ,cold though. Not a lot planned for today, must do a bit of shopping for home and the caravan. I keep a stock of tinned food in the van over the summer, also tea and coffee, biscuits, cereal, that kind of thing, so that will have to be bought. Also general housework, what an exciting life I lead!!Hope yesterday went off as well as it could Ruby, I thought about you all.Thoughts to our poorly and sad people today, take care folks14

Morning folks, thanks GERS and Grrrr! I just waffled on about not much and then my post took itself off to wherever lost posts go! You will be pleased to hear this is just a brief resume!
RUBY I hope yesterday went as well as it could. The funeral of a young person especially is always traumatic. x
I am aiming for the first bus into town this morning, just odd bits needed here and there and then back on the next bus. I'll need my woollies on as it's another cold and frosty start. The sun is shining but the forecast remains cold all day.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. I hope MR YL's knee is less painful today and the Covid sufferers are on the mend. Hoping too that NANs poorly car is getting well looked after. Thoughts are with NRA. Take care one and all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning All
Dry and fine this morning, will do some washing in a while and get it outside. Managed to dodge the heavy hail showers yesterday and got everything dried and put away.
Hope you're OK Ruby.
Sounds like a good day out Gers.
Hugs to the poorlies and those struggling.
As you can imagine there's absolutely nothing to report from here, emptying the kitchen bins seems to have been the highlight of the day!
Take care. XX13 -

Morning all,Another cold and frosty morning, lovely though. We can take it easy this morning as there is no DGS football to attend, but will meet DS2 & DGD later for our town teams game, might need my sunglasses- our seats face the sun.We went to DB1s last night, he hadn't arrived home, stuck in traffic on the motorway
so SiL and their grandson kept us entertained until he got back.I think it'll be a takeaway night later, we had to try a different one last time as justEat said our favourite wasn't taking orders, and when I went in town yesterday I walked past the restaurant and there was a notice saying they were closed atm due to unforseen circumstances
RR sending hugs, I'm sure yesterday was very traumatic xNothing else to report so I'll wish you all a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -

It's lovely, light-weight and not too filled so not bulky at all. I'm really pleased with it.Loved all the comments about my knickers blowing in the wind, yes, there are like a pirate ship in full sail!
As I hadn't done a wash for ages there were 12 pairs out there, a bit like naughty bunting.

Morning all, it's very sunny here but soooo cold too. I have the wm on with a clothes wash and I'll strip the bed and get the bedding washed too hopefully it will all dry outside or at least have a good blow in the wind 😂 This morning I have to put down some ground rules to our new houseguest, Teddy the rabbit 🐰😁 he's staying here while DD and family go to Lanzarote for 10 days of sun 🌞, lucky ducks. We had a lesson on rabbit care from DGD before they left and we were quizzed on "have you looked after a small animal before ?" Mr Fix It replied "yes you, when you were a baby ", she was not amused 😣
I have a big pack of bacon from the meat van to split and freeze today but I'll keep some back for tea and I also have my 2 new plants to put in the border, somewhere, I really need to stop buying plants as I'm running out out room, I think plants/ garden centres to me are like catnip to cats, I might need to go to plant rehab !
Gers I hope you can help persuade your friend to have the knee op.
Izzy well done on offering the boss a hanky, how rude is she coughing all over you.
Camelot take it easy, that's what being on holiday means.
RedRuby thinking of you and your family.
Hugs to the poorly ones, anyone struggling at the moment and the MIA's.
Take care all

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but very cold, dd is still in bed and OH at the boot sale so all peaceful here for now.
Thank you all so much for the support re the funeral, it was such a sad occasion and yes it was traumatic thats probably just the right word for it, I know funerals are never nice but because he was so young it made it so much worse, his mum was just distraught she sobbed and screamed throughout the whole service
my twin nephews and their two male cousins were pall bearers they are only 19 and it was such a sad sight to see, his mum is still blaming herself and thinks she could have stopped it happening, I told her that he was so poorly and that he was at least at peace now and with his dad. it was emotionally exhausting for everyone, my nephew with the learning difficulty just broke his heart
Rest in Peace Harrison xxxx
Today we need to have a tidy through and then I am going to collect my sisters dog and bring her here for the night, my sister and partner have covid and are struggling with the dog so she can come here for the night and we will get her out for a couple of good walks. I am also picking up two dressed crabs from the next village, one for us and one for mum, we will have ours tonight for dinner with some bread and butter and salad, I love crab so am looking forward to it.
I wear a gillet almost every day, i have several including a down one, they are perfect for keeping your trunk warm while your arms are free, Gers you will need to get some special stuff to wash it in, dont just wash it as normal, you can get it from outdoor type shops, it will re waterproof it and does something to the down to keep it clump free.
Have good days all and take care xxx
