I thought energy bills are supposed to go up by 50%. Eon next has just doubled my gas bills. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Roughy cap price of gas increased by around 70% ( electric less )
the monthly payment though is based on past usage and account balance, so not just the unit priceAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Do the sums. You can’t go on averages and estimates. Look at your last years usage (in kw/h not by the monthly amount you pay.) and work out the cost based on the new rates and standing charges.
I was paying £63 pm for gas and leccy when Avro went bust. Finally got a dd set up with Octopus and they wanted £150. I felt that was an overestimate so we agreed on £125. It will go up again in October if things go as anticipated. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

You're lucky, when I come off my fix in July my gas unit rate almost triples and the SC increases by 44%0

Has anyone else experienced the same?Energy bills aren't going up by 50%.The average dual-fuel bill - total of gas and electricity - for the average household is going up ber 54%. But you can't take a gas bill in isolation as individual parts of that bill are changing by different amounts. Gas units are going up by closer to 80%, electricity units are going up by 35%.N.
