Cricket on TV

I used to love watching cricket on TV when it was regularly screened on BBC. I'd like to know if there's a very cheap package anywhere that would allow me to watch it again. I'm not interested in football, rugby and formula 1 etc. I'd just like to watch the odd game of cricket. My pension doesn't stretch to Sky and BT.
Don't mess with pensioners.

Sport on TV is not cheap if you just want one sport.Of course you may find it cheaper and more fulfilling to go to Edgbaston or Lords or The Oval or wherever depending on where you are.Edgbaston as an example is flogging tickets for £13 for the Vitality Blast fixture against Northamptonshire Steelbacks on Thursday 26 May. That's cheaper than any TV pass.1

England’s home and away games are all on pay TV as are most other bigger series around the world. BBC does show odd game here and other but your best bet would be to watch highlights on YouTube as ECB does upload them after every single match/day’s play. The last major series on free TV was England’s tour of India last year on channel 4 when Sky couldn’t come to an agreement with host broadcaster.1

I live in Cornwall so the big cricket grounds are a long way away.

As for in the UK, it seems most of the rights are bought up by Sky and BT. One option would be to watch it without a contract via those two.
For matches shown on Sky, you can watch using the NOW Service (a subsidiary) on monthly rolling contracts (or day pass) using their Smart TV app and use it for a month (or day pass) to watch matches in HD. Bit pricy at around £32.
For matches shown on BT, you can watch using the BT Sports Pass which is £25 for a 30 day pass to matches, ranging from HD quality to 4K.
These are "one off" costs without a contract.

The YouTube channel Sky Sports Cricket live streams some matches for free, especially women's cricket. Last season, a lot of the Women's Hundred matches were available for free on YouTube. If you have a smart TV, you should be able to watch YouTube on the tele. Hope that helps.MFW since March 2019Mortgage-free 30th June 2023

Looks as though you can live stream the men's domestic County championship via the ECB.
Last year the BBC had the rights to a few domestic matches so hopefully there will be some on free-to-air again this summer.MFW since March 2019Mortgage-free 30th June 2023
