Printing not working with new laptop

I was bought a new laptop with Microsoft Windows 10 in S mode.
The problem is that the system says I need new drivers to use my printer with the laptop. When I try to download drivers from Canon they are blocked as everything needs to go through Microsoft store.
I don't want to remove the S mode.
I have been printing via the Canon print app on my phone but would love to use my laptop.
Anyone know how to resolve

Because I thought S mode was supposed to protect the laptop from all those nasties that attack your computer"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Remove S mode, then create a second account on the machine as a standard user, so you are left with one which is admin and one as a user.
This way you can use the user account for most things which is essentially S mode (minus the store restriction) and if you need to do something specific then you can either logon as admin to do it, or use the admin credentials to allow it in the user account.1 -
I was under the impression that if you remove S mode you cannot reinstate it. Have looked on the Microsoft site and a lot of people on in the same boat and Microsoft are suggesting upgrading to Windows 10 Pro. They suggest downloading a printing app for the manufacturer which is the one I have on my phone was going to research that route. As laptop is new have also laptop manufacturer but not expecting response until next week"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

you don't need s-mode come out of it and install your printer driver
if you want to block apps from other sources than the store use the drop down box in settings / apps.1 -
