Sad about selling up

I've had mixed feelings about putting house up for sale and a bit sad that I'll be leaving it behind.
Did anyone else feel this?
The right thing is to move on of course as i fell out of love for this house (not location) for a few years now.

I think it's perfectly normal, especially if it's been a happy home and you've been there a long time, as we had.I fell out of love with the location, not the house. If I could have brought the house to my current location I would most certainly have done so.Make £2025 in 2025

My husband died on our front lawn at our family home, unfortunately I had to sell as I didn't have enough to maintain it (Grade II listed). I've had to come to terms with it and am trying to move on. I do appreciate the smaller bills here, I hope your new location meets your expectations.£216 saved 24 October 201412

Oh yes, I definitely feel sad when listing our homes, almost apologetic to them 😂
Each time I’ve been more than happy to stay in the house too, if anything was to happen to chain and collapse I’d just stay, however the minute we’ve exchanged, I don’t give it a second thought, I’m so excited about new property that I know leaving will be easy.1 -

Take your time and only list/sell when ready.1 -
We lived in our dream property, a detached bungalow with an Alice through the Looking Glass garden.A major change of circs involved us moving 200 miles. Sadly the bungalow couldn’t be moved
so we had to sell.

We were completely the opposite with our last house. We couldn't wait to shut the door for the last time and move on.
It wasn't the house that we didn't like. In many ways the house was ideal, but it was the neighbours and the area that we hated.2 -

It's normal - especially if you've been happy there.
Change is never easy though.... for what it's worth, the last couple of times we've moved I've got really emotional when the removal van has turned up - something about it then being very 'real', and me not quite being ready for it, even though it was planned for weeks if not months!!

Even though he never admitted it, I don't think my late father wanted to move. Which I think is mad, they had a 6 bed house and only 2 living there. He'd much preferred somewhere nearer the coast but was anxious to actually go somewhere new.I used to wake in a cold sweat thinking I still owned my first flat and that it hadn't sold up until about 3 years ago (I sold it in 2003 more because my health meant I had to move).May you find your sister soon Helli.
