I can`t make head nor tail of your last post, one debt is statute barred, now they are chasing the other, did they provide evidence of this debt, from you post i can`t tell, sorry ?

Apologies, I thought I was clear.

Hopefully, I can clear up the misunderstandings.

They have sent evidence of one of the Debts. For this, I sent a “Time has run out to recover the debt” letter. The other debt they have never sent any proof for.

Since then, I have had 2 letters stating they are still looking to speak to me, but the Balance has since decreased in value. I did not receive any letter stating why they have decreased the balance or if they have acknowledged the letter I sent for “Time has run out to recover the debt.”

Today I received another letter with the decreased value stating they are referring the account over to QDR Solicitors.

What steps should I follow now?

So this is the old Quid2 debt

and they have never sent any proof of this one.

If they are considering a court claim (and presumably that is why they are passing it to a 'solicitor' though it may be a bluff) then the next stage is that they must send you a 30-day pre-action letter. That gives you another opportunity to request to see their evidence.

If they still want to proceed despite not being able to prove anything, then they're really stupid. I think they're just hoping you will give in and pay them.

Isn't that the one that you said they had confirmed was statute barred?

    You can ignore it.

I sent them a letter stating it was statute barred but they never responded to it.

Well if it's statute barred that's the end of it. You have a full defence to any claim.

So when you said 'For the one they did provide proof for I sent them a letter stating it was Statute Barred. They have confirmed that too. '

    What did they actually confirm?
