Hi all.
I was looking for a bit of guidance regarding some Letters that I have received. I have revied a letter from Lantern last week saying
---------
Dear xxxxx
We've been trying to contact you to understand your circumstances and let you know the options you have to repay this balance.
If you're experiencing financial difficulty, we understand how hard this can be, but our award-winning team are here to help you arrange a suitable payment plan based on your circumstances.
What will happen if I don't get in touch?
We're here to support you, but if you don't contact us during the next week, we will refer your account to our
reconnection partner Resolvecall.
They will be instructed to try and engage with you by visiting you at the address we hold.
The visit to your address can be avoided, all you need to dub is get in touch within the timeframe above.
-------------------
I did call them from a withheld number to see what this was about but refused to give them my DOB as I did not trust them.
I have also then a letter from Resolvecall today stating that they will be visiting me soon
On the Resolvecall letter, they say the Creditor is: THINK FINANCE (UK) LTD T/A 1 MONTH LOAN & More.
I have scoured my credit files (Experian, Transcall and Equifax) I have no defaults or unpaid payments. Several years ago I had a few defaults and I am free from all of these and do not want to go back down that road.
I am in Scotland and understand the statute barring debt is Five years here.
I have just sent a Prove it Letter to Lantern.
What should I do next if anything?

Nothing, that`s a good first response from you.
Lantern buy up old debts, then get resolve-call to chase them up on their behalf, lots of threads on resolve-call on this forum.

Such behaviour obviously brought them to the attention of the FCA, and, after many hundreds of thousands of complaints, and after having massive fines imposed on them, they went through a complete root and branch re-boot, change of management, better staff training, even a new name, and came out the other side as Lantern.
They are still on notice, so expect any contact to be polite and business like, as they have to behave themselves these days.
The letters they send are all generic template letters designed to get you to believe they have either previously written to you, or have tried to contact you in other ways, whatever it may be, their sole purpose is to get you to engage with them.

One from Think Finance 1 Month Loan. The other was Quid 24.
They have provided a Consumer Credit Agreement for the think Finance 1 Month Loan dated March 2011 with a very old address on it. There is no signature on the Agreement.
For Quid 24 they have referred this to the relevant Team for further investigation.
Now I know 100% I have not acknowledge or paid anything to the Think Finance any where since 2011.
What options do I have now or what are the next steps please note I am in Scotland ?0 -
Well the Think Finance one is statute barred. There is a Scotland - specific letter from National Debtline here:

So a quick update. Lantern did send a letter showing one debt they were investing in and provided proof of one. For the one they did provide proof for I sent them a letter stating it was Statute Barred. They have confirmed that too. Now today I have been sent another letter looking to discuss the other debt that they are investigating. What options do I have now?

I can`t make head nor tail of your last post, one debt is statute barred, now they are chasing the other, did they provide evidence of this debt, from you post i can`t tell, sorry ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
