2x2m aluminium sliding door installation

Has anyone ever had this done? I have a juliet balcony with wooden doors that open inwards, here's a picture:

I want it replaced with a sliding door. The space is 2x2 metres approx, so a 1x2m sliding door / 1x2m glass pane and then the door slides to the right.

I've requested some quotes, the latest one came in at around £4500 for aluminium frame. Another was around £3200. And another was £1300.

Given the vast differences, I don't really know what's reasonable. These quotes were all given after I e-mailed the details so they might vary a little on what I actually get. For example I believe the £1300 quote is for upvc, whereas the £4500 is for aluminium frame.

Aluminium frame would look a lot nicer than upvc I think, and it can be sprayed any colour I want for a fee. It just seems a lot for the frame etc as I imagine the labour would be half a day at most.

Any thoughts welcome!

If you live in a block of flats you should check you lease to see if you are allowed to do this especially as you would be changing the design.

alli sliders are better than upvc . the 1300 is decent . 3200 decent 4500 overpriced
