Ruby I will be thinking of you and your family today, sending love and strength.
Nels hope you hear something today re your mums move.
snoozer Thinking of you all too
gers enjoy your trip and lunch.
Don’t get much chance to post these days as back full time working on 12 hour shifts but I do try and read along,
I have also got a puppy as usually I’m home during the day or my son is at weekends. She is the runt of the litter - a Cockapoo but looks more cocker spaniel. She has settled in really well, loves to snuggle up which is lovely.
hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care15 -
Morning all. Had problems with the internet yesterday, the router was not playing ball, the computer was slow and my language programme kept coming up with a fatal error. Took a while to sort all that out so I just read instead of posting yesterday. Made my gyro's, made too much bread obviously, so it's been in the fridge rising and being smashed back for the last couple of days. One piece is enough for me and OH is on lates. Trying for something a bit healthier today so stuffed peppers it is.I'm out for lunch tomorrow with friends, I missed one of their birthdays thanks to having covid so I have her presents to give to her. I'm going to do my best to stay away from the meat counter in the farm shop though, I'm easily swayed by a nice chunk of meat. I might stir my stumps today and take a slow walk to Lidl, I need some cotton wool pads,I use one very day to clean my eyes after an optician told me to years ago [ I wear contacts and the little bits of sleep that can crust your lashes used to fall in and get behind my contact lenses]Snoozer, highs and lows from the scans then, keeping my fingers crossed for more highs...Gers, at least it isn't heftknickers being blown about
remined me of my nan's neighbour with her frilly pink bloomers, very decadent, very Nurse Emmanuel..enjoy your day out. Ruby, hope it goes as well as it can, such an absolute shame. And I hope you get to untie some strings for the young lady. Scarlet, hope you're feeling better. Coxy, camelot, dp1 and Sunflower, you too. Nelski, it;s so frustrating and tiring that nothing happens to plan, or to logic, or to the best intterests. I don't know if this kind of thing was endemic before covid, and I can't understand why it's so [swear word] difficult. Hope they can get something sorted sooner rather than later. Must be so scream inducing... Take care today, wrap up for winters last hurrah.

Good morning, I feel very tired, can't seem to get going.
Cold but dry, I need to change the bed, hopefully the bedding will dry outside. I hope it warms up a bit as we're going to sort the greenhouse out this afternoon.
I hope everything goes as well as it can today Ruby, it's so heartbreakingly sad ♥️
I hope your Mum gets moved today Nelski♥️
I hope everyone has as good a day as they can🌻11 -
Afternoon all. We didn't get as much frost last night as expected and today couldn't be any more different than the last few days. It's bright and sunny with blue sky and fluffy clouds but it's oh so cold.
I've gone round the house with a duster and the vacuum this morning but not as thoroughly as I'd hoped. DH's knee is playing up again and last night he had a fall in the bathroom. He said his knee "gave way" and he ended up on the floor. Now he can't put any weight on it although it will "bend" so I don't think it's broken but it does look swollen. He uses a walking stick but that's not really helping so he's marooned in the bedroom with me playing Nursie. For now he's taking painkillers and using hot/cold packs on it but I think it will need investigating further. I think he could be postponing the inevitable as it's not the first time it's happened. Why are men so stubborn when it comes to their health? Aaargh!
That's scuppered my plans for today as I was hoping to go to the PO while the weather is fine. I'd be on edge if I did go, so that's cancelled for now. It's not urgent so it can wait. Other than that, it's the usual admin stuff to be done.Enjoy your days away, nmlc.
Sounds like a busy day, Gers. Have a good time.
I hope your mum gets moved soon, Nels. The waiting is so unsettling.
Special thoughts Ruby for today’s funeral. A difficult time for all concerned.
Glad you enjoyed your day out yesterday TA, it will have made a nice change for you.
Enjoy your long weekend off, Izzy.
Hope you win at the quiz, snoozer. If not, it will still be good to see old friends again.
Feet up camelot. As you say, the housework can wait.
Right, time for another trek up the stairs to see what my patient might fancy for lunch. Hugs to anyone who needs/wants one, healing wishes to the poorlies and peace to the worried. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.15 -
Hi Ruby, sorry, I didn't realise the funeral is today, I'm a bit lost off. Thoughts to you all.
Gers, I'm another one who is laughing about your knickers - bet when you posted that you hadn't any idea of the laughter it would cause!!
I do less ironing now than I've ever done, I find it I get the laundry out straightaway and give it a good shake it minimises creasing.13 -
Afternoon all,Special thoughts today for Ruby and family.Enjoy lunch Gers, and Snoozer the quizNice to see you Topsy. helping someone elseDH dropped me in town this morning & I caught the bus back as far as it would take me then walked the rest home, so just having a minute- hard work carrying bags so couldn't get a great deal. Had a wait in Wilkos, thought it seemed dear.Checked the receipt and there was an item on there that wasn't mine, I'd used the self scanner so had to wait while the assistant finished her phone call helping s.o. else. She soon sorted it and I got a refund but it's a warning to check receipts when yo self scanPopping up to see our friend who broke his leg once DH comes back home. Lasagne for tea for the men, perhaps fish for me,then another visit to see my brother to drop his birthday card and wine off.Take care all x

Afternoon all, a late entry from me today, do I get nul points on the score board ? 😂
As the sun was shining we decided to visit the garden centre for coffee and a very naughty slice of red velvet cake 😋 🍰 Lots of people there, all oldies like us and everyone was chatting with everyone and anyone, perhaps it's the discarding of the masks and you can see if people are approachable ? I bought 2 more plants for my border and I was looking for another plant but for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of it. We called in the meat van on the way home and they were super busy, think I'd rather go on a Wed as it's much quieter but I'm glad they have lots of custom as they are a family business. We we very lucky with the weather as we'd just got through the door when there was a huge rumble of thunder and down came the rain........ and now the sun is back out but there's still thunder rolling about. I must say I'm not fussed on the curtesy car much, I still prefer my Suzy tank, she's higher up off the road and makes me feel safer.
This afternoon I need to ring the pharmacy to re-order Dad's script, I couldn't get through at all yesterday as the line was constantly busy 🤨
I too laughed at the line of knickers, reminded me of my grandmas directoire ones looking like pink and white sails blowing in the wind and also her girdle stretched over the bedroom chair 🤣
RedRuby I hope everything went as well as expected on such a sad occasion.
Nels thinking of you and Mum, 🤞 today's the day for her move.
NRA thinking of you.
Topsy hello again, good to have you back.
Scarlet hope you feel better today.
Yorkslass hope DH's knee is ok.
NMLC enjoy your time away.
Snoozer enjoy the quiz and meet up with friends.
I shall send healing vibes to all the poorly and/or tired ones, think we all need a break in the sunshine being waited on hand and foot.
Take care all
nan xx

Hi all
Another busy day at the fun factory for me (aka work) but at least it's the weekend. That, and it was a lovely sunny day today. Cold, but lovely.
Looking forward to a quiet weekend as I have absolutely no plans apart from trying to relax.
Quick dinner of cold chicken and vegetables in a cheese sauce has been demolished. Treated myself to some strawberries and a small pot of double cream so that'll be pudding a bit later on.
Hope everyone is well and has a lovely weekend

YorksLass - I have had both knees replaced. I am doing so much better now than before. It really was worth it. I used to make appointments for my Dad as we shared the same doctor, and have him take to "my" appointment just to get him in to see the doctor. Maybe they are afraid of looking weak when they panic at the thought of going to the doctor's and don't want to admit it.7

Ruby - hope all went okay.
Been out from 11.30 to after 6pm at SA - helping with catering for the funeral of a Bandsman. Lots of savoury food left over so we will have it before the quiz tomorrow evening - the Captain will not have to cook a meal. Plenty of cake left so I won't bake tomorrow for after the service on Sunday.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
