Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Light and cold frosty start to the day.
DH watching catchup tv, DS1 getting ready for work, I'm enjoying my first cuppa whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner was a sandwich for DH and some crackers and cheese for me, we had fish and chips lunchtime yesterday so didn't want anything much for dinner.
Jobs to do this morning before getting away for a couple of nights.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Hope you enjoy your time away. It's a frosty start here but sunny. Yesterday was freezing with rain.I've got housework to do today, and there's some ironing. Working round the house will keep me warm anyway, just as well as we only have the heating on for 2 hours in the morning, in the evening we'll have it on for another couple of hours, sometimes less.DH is monitoring our energy usage carefully, I think we won't be the only ones doing that.Hope everyone has a good day anyway, thoughts to our poorly people.Take care folks.15

Morning all - thanks for starting us off, hope you enjoy your days away.Scarlet - I haven't ironed anything for about 25 years, and don't miss it.This morning it's beautiful outside, a glorious sunrise but bitterly cold. I've been out putting things into the car and then stood for a wee while watching the geese fly over, had a little walk down the track when I disturbed the two small deer which dashed off across the field. They seem to take cover in the old farm buildings. Now I'm waiting for the WM to finish a quick wash which I want to hang out before I head to Glasgow for the day. Yesterday I got a full load of whites washed and dried outside - it was such a pleasure to see my knickers being blown around by the hefty wind.I'm going for lunch with an ex-colleague of DM's, she is now in her 80s and very lively still. I'm not 100% keen but she was very kind to DM over the years and they worked closely together at the university. I'll take the opportunity to drop into Costco on the way in, I'm completely out of kitchen roll for the first time in ages. After not doing any shopping for about 10 days my fridge needs some stuff in it so I'll do that on the way back. The drive down should be really good, no rain! Now, on the gallop. I hope that everyone is holding up, hugs to our poorlies and sad. Happy Friday to everyone.15

Morning all
Raining here this morning but meant to get sunny later on, its the funeral this morning which will be so hard for everyone and almost unbearable for his mum I think, there is no wake as she couldnt face one and she wants no flowers but donations to a mental health charity which I think is so much better.
Will come home afterwards and get the dogs out for a good walk, fresh air always helps to clear your head
My meeting went very well I think yesterday, although her mum was a bit overbearing and I think will struggle to cut the apron strings, the young lady was 20 and did almost everyhing with her mum, mum also seemed quite rude almost about people with learning difficulties, she seemed to think her daughter was better than 'them' we will see though I would love to have her as I think it would do her the world of good to spend some time away.
Right I need to get on, sorry did not read yesterdays thread I will have a look later so I hope everyone is ok xxx12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's an absolutely beautiful start today, blue sky and sun and a thick frost!! But by heck it's cold! The heating is on for a couple of hours and like SCARLET the Friday Tidy should warm me up! I think we are all keeping check of our fuel usage now but it's not easy when the weather is so cold.
Our canal cruise and afternoon tea yesterday was lovely. The rain held off for most of it too which was a bonus and it was so relaxing chugging along slowly whilst enjoying our assortment of dainty sandwiches, delicious goodies and the perfect pot of coffee.
We stopped off at Aldi on the way back and I mostly stuck to my list but when seeing things much cheaper than I have been paying I doubled up on them. I must try and get there more often now as I was a regular at Aldi before Covid struck and I started getting Mr T home deliveries.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and the convalescing or bereaved. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Hi everyone,
Ruby, I hope today goes as well as it can.
Fingers crossed that the move happens Nelski.
Glad to hear you got the hire car Nanny, hopefully not for too long.
I managed to squirrel away all the fabric that Laura sent home with me yesterday. We need to start packing away the books that are going into storage when Laura and Brian move in. I've whittled them down over recent years but there must still be over a thousand so I shall have a prune, many of them I will never read again so they will go to a CS. I have a bookcase that my grandfather made out of oak. It is immensely heavy and will go to storage but I might ask Chris if he wants it, he has my grandad's police whistle and Crystal has my Nan's engagement ring so he will probably want it.
We have a quiz tonight, it will be nice to see the friends we go with, all three couples have a very vulnerable member so we have rarely seen each other in the last couple of years.
Have a good day.13 -
Morning everyone
Lovely and sunny here but it must have been very cold during the night as the heating came on.
Quiet day yesterday when I got back from town - it chucked it down and blew a gale all day. I wrote lists of where I'd like to go in Berlin and sent them to DD who is going to make up an itinerary for us.
Today I need to go for a few bits at M and S and will have a look in Poundland and then to mam and dads to do his banking.
Had an awful sleep or lack of sleep so may need a nap later.
Ruby - I hope today goes as well as it can
Gers - enjoy your day in Glasgow
Your knickers on the line, reminded me that when my girls were little and we got the bus from our village into town they would watch out the window for 'granny's big white flags' on her washing line as we went past their house!
Hope everyone has a good day x14 -
Morning All
Beautiful morning, the sun is shining but it was very cold overnight and there was a crisp, white frost when I got up. The bedding is on the line and I've remade the bed, feel shattered now! There's a towel wash to go in once I've had a shower, it should dry outside today.
Still testing positive and am itching to get the greenhouse up but it will have to wait, so will the housework, I really don't have the energy at the moment.
Thinking of you today Ruby.
Have a good day in Glasgow Gers, had laugh at the thought of your knickers on the line!
Enjoy your few days away nmlc.
Fingers crossed for your Mum's move today Nelski.
Your afternoon tea sounds idyllic TA.
Have a good day, take care. XX13
