Van wouldn't hold all my stuff, buyers getting angry... help!

I would say they’ve been reasonable enough to give you a slot to collect on Friday. I would have been straight back in my car the same day. Moving is often a bigger task that anticipated and I normally spend the days before packing stuff.1

They would be liable for replacing or compensating you for any of your stuff they disposed of or damaged.
Just try to be as quick as possible to keep things amicable1 -
You can rent vans the same day these days or the next morning, in hindsight you should have got a van rented for the next morning and drove over there to load it up.
Sometimes you have to think on your feet.
We have an average 3 bed semi and I doubt I could get the whole lot in two of those large moving trucks, let alone one.

The buyer can't just dispose of your stuff. They are liable for recompense if they do.1

You had my sympathy (as best laid plans etc) until you said it would have to stay five days until YOU saw fit becsuse YOU had issues and YOU had no Internet and YOU had no gas etc so they'll have to wait for YOU.
No.
Mate, it's not your house anymore, it's not your base. Your buyers have exactly the same issues plus your belongings stopping them settling in. Get it out in 24hrs and pay for storage if you have to. I'd be very miffed!4 -

But that doesn't mean it can be left for an undefined period. They can claim expenses off of you for breach of contract so claiming through court is a double edged sword.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
Sleep well.4 -
It is really tricky when people leave "stuff" - we arrived mid lockdown, 2 piles of stuff outside the house - hadn't a clue, assumed it was rubbish, bin men due next morning, chucking it down with rain so put it all in the garage.
Next morning, appearance by vendor's friend "I've come to collect the black bag they left" - good luck then help yourself, but somehow we were supposed to sort the problem...
Got all the stuff back out of the garage and bin men very helpfully took the lot. Call from estate agent later that had we realised some of the stuff had been promised to a neighbour.... oh for goodness sake if you are leaving stuff put a note on it!!!!1 -
Mark_Michalowski said:I'd need to hire another van, obviously.Unless you have a very very small car then the obvious thing should have been doing as many round trips as required on Monday to get all your stuff cleared asap.... and almost certainly cheaper than hiring a van.Another option would have been to ask one of your (ex) neighbours if you could leave some items on their driveway/front garden to collect later or the next day - assuming the neighbours would be more willing to do you a favour than the buyers. That would be the best way to deal with anything which you couldn't move by car (e.g. if the ladder was a long one)If you can't get a suitable vehicle arranged for this morning then the ex-neighbour option might still be the best temporary solution.Don't put your problem onto the buyers any longer than you already have. It could be costly to you.2

Start by phoning them instead of sending text messages. Any reason not to drive there in the evening to fill your car? While there you can move the remaing stuff to wherever they will let you leave it, suggesting they can put it in their garage is arrogant and thoughtless. Was your new home full of the previous owners stuff?
