PFP Energy to British Gas Issue

I was a customer of PFP Energy for less than 2 months, when I received my first electricity bill from PFP energy I was charged £1272 for electricity for a one month period - when I then looked at the bill it showed that they put the meter reading at 0 instead of the actual previous meter reading I gave them - I then opened a complaint with them but two weeks later they went into administration - I was then moved to British Gas. I was informed this week by British Gas that I have 14 days to pay the outstanding balance from PFP Energy, I have all of the evidence that clearly shows the first bill was incorrect but British Gas maintain they cannot do anything to help me, they told me to speak to OfGem who told me to speak to the administrators who then told me they can't do anything and it should be British Gas... I am completely frustrated and lost and don't know what to do...

BG will need to sort this out, so raise a formal complain with them.

What do you have to support you claim that the invoice you received is incorrect? Do you have a final invoice from the supplier before PFP that show the meter reading at the point when you changed to PFP.

Have you paid anything to BG for the energy you are using at  the moment?

I have a slightly different issue with similar we experience. I've just started a new complaint with BG who haven't done their usual 24hr call back. 

I'm wondering if I need to contact the press - seems outrageous that the administrators can get away with this.
