Insurance for category N car

Has anyone experienced higher insurance premiums with a category N vehicle? Thank you for your sound advice.

    The large majority of insurers don't ask if a car has been written off and so it makes no difference to premiums. The main difference it makes is that in the event of the car being written off again, the payout would be reduced to take into account the fact that a previously written off car has a lower market value than one which has not been written off. (Ballpark figure for the reduction is typically 20-25% I believe).
