I’m experiencing the same issue as the OP:

Have only transferred whole pounds to my Chase account from my main bank account

Have activated round-ups from day one.

Chase say I have spent £526 exactly, yet my Chase balance is £11.18. Not obvious from looking at the account transaction history where the round-up hasn’t worked properly.

Really do not like this - makes me feel worried it’s not working properly and I’m not in control of my money.

As the round-up amounts appear instantly along with the payment, it's easy to find the transaction for which you did not get a round-up, or an incorrect round-up. Once you know these, you can ask Chase for the reason.

More likely, you will find the difference has been caused by some deposits, e.g. a transfer from your rewards account, from refunds or from goodwill payments. For example, if you buy something for £22.11, the round-up is 89p, and your balance reduces by £23. If the £22.11 gets refunded, your round-up won't be removed, so you now have an odd amount, £xxx.11, in your account.

Is that your Chase balance or the current account balance?

The balance could include interest and cashback payments too.

Interest is not credited into the current account, and cashback gets paid into its own account.

NB. Good question what balance we are talking about. I had assumed we are talking about the money in the main current account, not the Cashback/Rewards or the Round-up account. What do you consider the "Chase balance"?

When I say Chase balance, I mean the balance in the main Chase current account that debit transactions and round-ups are taken from.

The round-up account and the cashback account I see as separate.

As suggested above (and before your post).

Refunds, temporary/validation payments, transactions that change value.
