How do you close the account with Tandem ? Other app based accounts there is a option clear as day - close account.
With so called open banking Tandem is linked to your host bank account, they don't hide the fact they can monitor your day- to - day transactions with your host account. I once cancelled a phone contract it took 30 minutes for the person on the other end of the phone to understand no means no.

To close the Tandem account, you need to telephone them.  It's a bit silly IMHO as they are app based.

Chat to their CS during 9 - 5 in the app

I've tried the chat but they have always referred me back to the telephone support for account closures.

Why do some businesses make this an issue. Try closing some email accounts, Amazon, and others too who like to bury it away some where.

NB, this is from past experience so don’t know if it applies to Amazon today.

Tandem's live chat and telephone support is available 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

Apparently no support Sat & Sun!

I’ve left £1 in my Marcus, Ford money, Atom and Tandem account to keep them open.
Stuck it all in chase easy access savings @ 1.5%.
Overnight tandem went from 0.77 to 1.1 %.
If anyone beats chase off I will go.
I've maxed my Chase so I've got £ in Cynergy, Tandem, Atom, Marcus but like you if anyone beats Chase or the others then like you I'll move my £; my loyalties are based on interest rates - when I do move £ about I do keep a small in said account just in case.
What I won't be doing it putting money into fixed or notice accounts right now; there's be quite a lot of changes recently and I think we will see more ~ happy days!

For a day or two last September Atom did one year fixed for 1.5%.
Maxed that out, So will be looking for another deal this year, 2% would do nicely.
    Who knows.
