Hi, my fixed tarriff with Octopus Energy runs out next month and I will have to pay 39p for my electricity and 12p for gas which I just can't afford.

All other companies want roughly the same as a new customer, I just wondered if anyone had better luck switching, thanks.

Best advice is do nothing, then your prices will be 28p and 7p

You have asked the same question 5 days ago already and have received the advice to do nothing and default onto their standard variable rate..

Nothing has changed in the meantime. There are no affordable fixed tariffs, only the ones like you are posting.

Best advice is still do nothing and revert to SVT

Hi, thanks for reply, I thought the same and this was confirmed from replies on here from my previous post.

But Citizens Advice told me differently and my supplier insist this is there default variable tarriff, just wondered if anyone had any luck with switching.

    You're with Octopus.
Their default variable tariff is called Flexible Octopus. This is the tariff you'll move to if you don't agree to a new fix.
    If you:
... you will see the Flexible Octopus rates applicable in your area.

Just tried it and had to press twice load more because they are showing all their fix rates first. If somebiody does not know about this he will have a real problem to find the right tariff.

59 other tariffs before it shows the flexible one for me.

You can make it easier by using the filter tool to look at flexible domestic tariffs only.

Hi, many thanks for your replies and help, have been checking there Tarriffs, must have been updated but have found there V1 flexible tarriff.

30p and 6p seems in more inline with other suppliers, my brother's getting 27p for his electricity.

What would be a good 2 year fixed rate tarriff price that you would take?.

I can only go by what I was constantly told by Octopus Energy, Citizens Advice and Ofgem.

Now they have finally updated there website with there updated tarriffs I can finally get the information I needed.

To be honest I gave up checking because I was constantly told what I have referred to in my other post, this post was about changing suppliers.

With all the suppliers offering essentially the same variable rates, and with all the fixed rates being significantly higher than their variable ones, there really isn't anywhere to switch to.

I think that's their V1 Tracker tariff. The standard variable is called "Flexible Octopus". In my region it looks like this:

Of course, you might still want to join Tracker; it's a reasonable tariff but with some unusual features.
