EON Blatant Over estimating to overcharge
Options
I have just been blatantly over charged by Eon its disgusting. on Feb 10th I submitted meter readings (day and night readings), on Feb 11th they estimated my usage was 4000kw ( about 14months months worth) higher on my day rate, ignoring my meter readings and billing me 4000kW for 1 days usage. They also under estimated my night readings by about 4000kW ( about 2-3 months usage). The rates were both the same at 19.35p/kW as I had recently been transferred to EON as my provider went bust.
I read my meter on 31st March 2022 when this time they used the meter readings only to find now, they tried to correct the obscene over estimate on my day rate and under estimate on my night rate with a completely different set of rates 11.96p/kW day rate and 22.65kW night ( this is perverse if you have a dual rate meter you would understand). In summary I have been charged approximately £2000 for 1 days electricity consumption. This is blatant manipulation and bad behaviour designed to extract more of my money upfront and the repay me at a significantly discounted rate. I have never seen anything like it before. Please examine your bills encase you have any unnecessary excessive estimates of from your provider.

Those rates look wrong either way, there are no tariffs where the day rate is lower than the night rate, though the other way around could be the pre-April E7 rate. My suspicion is that there is some error there, likely related to the SoLR process.
Also, a high estimate is likely to benefit you in the long run as new rates are higher than old rates, but it is probably worth sorting out regardless.1 -
When do you typically receive a bill? If it's normally on the 11th, then the bill may have already been estimated and generated before you even entered your reading. Entered readings need to be validated and approved before being added to your account.Likewise, readings entered on the 31st March might take significantly longer to be validated due the huge amount of activity around that time. Now would probably be a good time to contact them and re-issue a bill as even your rates seem wrong.1

If you recently changed to EON, maybe night and day readings are mixed up?
What were the readings that you submitted, and what are the readings that EON estimated? Have you submitted readings when you joined EON, or what are the readings on your final bill from your old provider, that is what will be reported to EON.0 -
Calm down. You have not been blatantly overcharged' nor will you be paying '£2000 for I days supply'.
Errors have been made which can be sorted out.0 -
Have you tried to speak with them? your rant post doesn't really go into detail on that side of things. It's likely a mix-up, an error - and one that can be resolved with a phone call I'd imagine.0
