Claiming on travel insurance-worth it?

I couldn't take a Ryanair flight due to COVID, their change fees were a joke of course and its cheaper to book a new flight. The Flight cost was £100 in total return. I have insurance and the excess is £50 so technically it's worth doing as I'll get £50 back. My question is whether travel insurance is similar to home/car where my future premiums will increase or I'll go on some kind of blacklist? If I was claiming for £100's or £1000's it would be worth it but for the sake of £50....should I do it? Or will the consequences be worse?

My experience is out of date, but one claim did not seem to affect the travel insurance that I was offered afterwards. Of course, if you have a string of bad luck things might get difficult.

My understanding is that making a claim on travel insurance doesn't affect future premiums. Previous claims aren't a question that's asked on travel insurance quotes, so you should continue to get similar quotes for future policies as you do today.0

When getting quotes recently it has asked if i had 3 or more insurance claims recently. So 1 claim probably wont affect it0
