Al Rayan Bank - Online Banking?

Does Al Ryan Bank offer 'traditional' online banking (using a computer via their website) to manage savings accounts, or is it app only?

It looks like they do online banking - from here...

    You can manage this account:

    • Through Digital Banking (if you're registered)
    • By post (for maturity instructions only)

There is more info about their 'digital banking' here : https://www.alrayanbank.co.uk/digital-banking

"Manage your account on the move through our Mobile Banking app, or in the comfort of your own home through the Desktop Portal"

They used to, but it was phased out. You can use their authenticator app to log in and work from a desktop or laptop. If you don't have either the full app or the authenticator app then you are out of luck.

Yes, I read that too, so assumed that I would be able to, but, when I opened an account, I couldn't find any obvious way to register for online banking, just various methods using apps.

    I don't have a smartphone, so that's that.
I guess I'll have to invoke my right to cancel...

Eh?  No it hasn't!  I successfully accessed the Al Rayan system from my desktop computer using a standard browser just two minutes ago!

If you ask for a "Hard Token" device, then you don't need anything but your desktop computer.  Do a search on the forum for Al Rayan and you'll see all the posts over the last couple of years on how it can be made to work.

It's never been phased out, it's just that their preference is for customers to use mobile banking so online banking isn't promoted. It's a pfaff setting it up, but once set up it's easy to use and you can either use a username/password or token device.

My understanding is that this was provided as a transition for existing customers who couldn't move to the new system. It is not available (or even made known) to new customers.
