Barclaycard Mobile Payments

I've always used Curve in the past to front my card so I can use Google Pay (which my CC provider didn't support directly) and never had a problem with and never had a declined payment.
I've since got a Barclaycard Reward so I can use it for international transactions without fees and thought I'd use the provided app. Worked fine for a week, and then last night whilst at a restaurant it was declined, twice, telling me to login to the app and try again. Kinda difficult to login when there is no mobile signal! That was an embarrassing moment. So I swapped back to Google Pay and it went through on my previous card.
Is this normal when using the Barclaycard app? If so, I think I'll just add the card to Curve and see if that fixes the problem, with an automatic backup of my previous card in case they decide to decline again to prevent any more embarrassing moments.

Barclaycard mobile app is absolute trash. Not as reliable as GPay. I link my Barclaycard to curve and this enables me to pay for things with my Barclaycard via GPay (like you said). If I know I need section 75 protection then I will pay for the item with my physical barclaycard or my Sainsburys credit card ( which is also linked to GPay)

Agrred, It just seems weird that GPay -> Curve -> Barclaycard is more reliable than just Barclaycard App -> BarclayCard !
If I pay for something expensive (say for items > £100) then I'll always prefer to use my physical card.
But we still have Mastercard Chargeback and Curve Customer Protection, which will do for purchases under £100.
Do you know if purchases made using Curve qualify for the Barclaycard cashback? I think it's 0.25% so it's not that important but it would be nice to know as technically they are still purchases.

Yes I pay for everything with curve linked to my Barclaycard and always get the cashback.
