EU driving licence - help needed
Hello,
I passed my driving test in non EU country and then I moved to the EU country, where I was able to exchange my drivers licence from my home country to EU country.
I exchanged my licence in 2018.
Now, I have a valid EU licence and I live in the UK.
On gov.uk if there are two options to chose:
- Have you passed test outside of UK, EU, EEA? If I chose this option it says I can't drive for more than 12 months
- Do you have a valid EU licence? If I press yes then it says I am fine.
However, I can chose only one of these and there are no sub questions. So I either put I passed outside of EU (which assumes I don't have EU licence) or I put that I have a valid EU licence (which doesent ask how I got it).
What is the correct answer to my driving situation in the UK? Where can I check this?

AIUI you can drive OK in the UK, so long as the current reciprocal arrangement remains in force or until you reach 70 y-o-a.
The "passed test outside" issue only becomes relevant if/when you want (or are forced) to exchange your licence for a UK one.

Thank you!
Is there any link (web page) that confirms this?
Also, do you know, will my insurance be the same as if I had a UK licence?
Thanks

"EU licence-holders living in the UK can continue to use their licence if it is valid, subject to UK licence renewal requirements. This means an EU licence must be changed to a UK licence at the age of 70, or three years after the driver becomes resident, whichever is later." from https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/driving-in-the-eu-after-brexit/#:~:text=EU licence-holders living in,becomes resident, whichever is later.Mlasso said:Thank you!

Don't know about insurance. I'd get a few quotes (anonymously) for both options.0 -
Assuming the question asked is accurate "Do you have a valid EU licence?"
The the answer is yes, so I don't see you having a problem0
