New boiler and bathroom

Hi all
I've had a quote from a local, reputable company. I'm in the South and it's a fairly expensive area:
- new boiler (switching from an old one with 120l tank) to an ATAG combi
- new bathroom (everything done, floor to ceiling in a reasonably high spec). It's my main bathroom but it's fairly small - 3m x 1.5m.
I've been told we're looking at ~£11k all in.
Feedback welcome
Thanks

It's a good & not inexpensive boiler brand.
A lot depends upon what you have chosen to fit in the bathroom & how much work is involved in the install for both boiler & bathroom. Not enough info given to say whether reasonable price or not imo.1 -
Thanks for responding. He told me that everything would be stripped back, re-plastered, new ceiling, lighting and floor, all pipework replaced, everything in the room painted and finished.
The boiler has its own cupboard currently. He'll remove it and the cylinder, and then install the new boiler in cupboard where the cylinder is currently. The layout of the bathroom won't change - it's like for like but good quality replacements. Don't know if that helps?0 -
It helps a bit to know the scope of the work, but its still not a lot of information to go on.
A boiler replacement would normally cost about £3000 or so, so the cost of the bathroom work is around £8K. This seems quite a lot, but we don't know the details that might make this more expensive such as whether there is a shower, whether there is to be any tiling done, whether there is any electrical work, e.g. installing new lights and/or fans, installing a heated towel rail or a new bath.
My guess is that the quote is about right, providing that they are providing a new bath, shower, shower enclosure, toilet, hand basin, tiles, lights, extractor fan, towel rail, painting any untiled walls, and fitting every thing including accessories like toilet roll holders, and shelves. My guess is that materials will be about £4K and the labour to fit it about the same. (You can ask them if they can tell you how much is materials).
You can get a better idea by asking them how many days it will take. Assume two team members are working on the job and they are charged at around £35/hr each. (They can't fit more than two people into such a small room). Multiply the number of days the job will take by the cost of the labour per day (say £500) and you have a rough idea of what the labour cost should be. You can get a rough idea of material costs from the internet.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Thank you. Yes, everything you've listed is included - I just pick it from a catalogue. They will tile about 3/4 of the room.
He advised it's usually 10-13 days' work.0
