OTM want to increase my payment from £60 to £260 but I am not working ATM/vulnerable
Options
Hi all,
Outfox The Market have twice now increased my DD from £50/60 to £260 without my permission - I am not working at the moment due to redundancy and mental health issues. My income is £630 a month, rent is 400 and I have a child to provide for.
I cancelled my DD as they cannot be trusted, and replaced with a standing order for £60 as I am not trying to avoid payment. They are now saying they will put me on a more expensive tariff as the cheaper tariff needs to be DD - I have told them I cannot trust them with access to my account as they have twice taken out £250 leaving me penniless and starving.
They have come back saying that it needs to be at least £200 - I just cannot do that!
Please can someone advise me? It is really upsetting me and I feel like I am trapped by them. Thank you.

Rather than get pages of advice from well-intentioned posters on this forum, you need to speak to a Citizens Advice Energy Adviser who can look at your usage etc and advise what you should do. The supplier is correct that a change of payment method may result in a tariff change.2
