how long ago did you fill in the claim form?

Alpha and Teletext Holidays were both parts of Truly Travel. They all ceased trading towards the end of October so there is no reason why you should not have been refunded in full by now. The process was being operated by the Travel Trust Association, after you claimed, (assuming you filled in the form) have you had any correspondence at all?
Truly' s accountant remarked a couple of weeks ago that they had received a £4 million VAT refund in respect of Alpha and had used that to refund customers, but it is obvious some of it has not been used at all. Indeed, Alpha claimed all customer money was held in trust, and checked by the TTA, and since they would only pay hotels after you travelled, all that money should still be in the bank account.
I know some people have already been in touch with Surrey Trading Standards because the TTA is based in Woking, Truly had no office in the Uk and operated from India using their accountant's address as an 'accommodation address' I think you should all consider contacting Trading Standards and ask them to investigate where the money has gone as other customers have had letters saying there is no money, despite the TTA promising there was protection and indeed providing claim forms0 -

Yes, it is down to TTA to repay you. They promise this on their website and provided claim forms when the company failed. It is beginning to look as though the money is not in the trust account at all. I wonder whether the amount missing is thousands or millions?0

I have been trying to get our refund back from the TTA and have come across the same problem we were advised to claim through our bank and we have gone passed the 540 day deadline, So what do we do now I have tried phoning TTA and they are not taking calls, our holiday was booked for 12 May 2020 and September 2020 Accommodation-only Alpharooms, any idea's what to do next ????0

did you follow the process on the website and complete the claim form? https://www.alpharooms.com/0

Completing the claim form appears to be of no value at all, there are now over 2000 members of a Facebook group who all claim to be owed money by the TTA for Alpha Room bookings. If you are on Facebook I suggest you take a look, regrettably, I can see no other option but to go to the press, maybe the Daily Mail which loves travel horror stories or the Sun which has a fairly active travel editor or even the infamous Simon Calder at The Independent. It is not the way it should be but they are simply ignoring the issue, hoping everyone will go away0

I'm in the same boat.
I filled in all the Alpharooms forms and every week would get a generic email from the TTA stalling my claim.
I actually have 2 ongoing claims, from 2 bookings.
One is currently under review by my bank, though they said they'd let me know within 10 working days and it's been 20 so far...
My other claim has been refused by Nat West as it was paid by debit card and the booking was over 120 days ago. But I couldn't claim earlier as I was always told Alpha rooms were dealing with the refund....
So now I have gone back to TTA, their phone goes straight to voicemail, and no one ever returns my call.
Their website and emails now say they have agreed with the banks and the banks will be dealing with the refunds which is a lie.
And when I fill in the form saying my bank won't refund due to the lapse in time I get another automated email claiming TTA are now expediting the claim, which isn't true.
This is the email:Tuesday
Your Booking with Alpha Holidays Ltd - 16th May 2022 UpdateDear Dean ,
We are writing to you today regarding the details you have submitted for your booking made with Alpha Holidays Ltd, trading as Alpharooms.com. Please read the below section carefully, to understand what the next steps are:
As you know, Alpha Holidays Ltd entered liquidation on 1st December 2021 and TTA Travel implemented a claims process for all customers.
This process required verification of claims and agreement for a mechanism of reimbursement, overseen by TTA.
To complete this process, you are now eligible to contact your card issuer and submit a claim under the Chargeback scheme administered by your card provider.
NEXT STEP: To submit a chargeback claim with your card issuer please log on to their website, search “chargeback” and follow the online process required. For reference, your card issuer is the credit or debit card company that you used to pay Alpha Holidays Ltd.
To support your claim, you may have to provide the following, depending on your card issuer:- Detailed description of the goods or service you have purchased/ordered (you would need to confirm you have an Accommodation-only booking)
- Proof of purchase (booking confirmation or invoice from Alpha Holidays Ltd)
- Merchant name (this appears on your credit/debit card statement e.g., Alpha Holidays Ltd, trading as Alpharooms.com)
- Transaction date (the date the money was taken from your card)
- Amount charged/evidence to support correct amount (credit/debit card statement).
Please note that if you have previously had a rejection from your card issuer you should now re-submit, and your claim should be re-considered to enable the next steps to be completed. If you are still experiencing issues, kindly let us know by completing this form https://ttng.wufoo.com/forms/alpha-holidays-form and we will escalate this within the bank.
Thank you for your continued patience with this matter and we would now ask you to complete the process detailed above.
Kind Regards,
The Operations Team at Travel Trust Association
