Hi, my Direct Debit was already pretty high £133, Eon Next have increased further today from £133 to £268.47.
The bill says:
Your estimated annual cost £1252.37 a year for electricity £1396.26 a year for gas.
What can I do?

How much gas did you use last year?
Has much electric did you use last year?
What tariff are you currently on?
A DD of £268 would suggest you have a debit balance, is this true?

The increase could be valid if you are coming off a fixed rate deal or even if you are coming off the Oct 2021 price capped standard variable rate tariff. Perhaps you can supply the standing charge and rates per kWh you were on pre April 1st and post Apr 1st.

Also your actual kWh usage for the past year for electricity and gas and if your account was in credit or debit on 1st April and how much this was.

Ask them to reduce the monthly direct debit as its an unreasonable amount, I got mine reduced from £129 to £81. Energy companies are over estimating their customers usage especially when everyone has cut down on their electric usage.

Exactly this. It's their estimate, challenge this. Personally I have a smart meter and pay the actual cost each month, just the way I prefer to pay.
