Hopefully mine will be in my account by Thursday. The process has changed for this year, even HMRC staff aren't fully aware of the changes, and it is well worth your time staying on the phone for an hour or so to talk to an advisor who will manually arrange the refund right there and then.

There are a lot of people struggling with ID documents this year, in no small part due to the ridiculous decision to ask for a Northern Ireland driving license as one of the three available ID proofs.

Don't be fobbed off, it's your money, tell them exactly why you are calling and tell them you need to arrange for the refund to be made today. HMRC is very easy to deal with if you are polite, and very clear about why you are calling.

As an aside, I remember the "bad old days" (1990s) of construction when I was a mature Uni student working, quite legitimately, during weekends and holidays as a subbie carpenter. You could literally take your 714 vouchers showing you had paid 25% tax at source into your local tax office any time you liked, show your documentation, and a nice lady would issue a giro cheque for your 25% deductions as a non tax paying student on the spot. Good times. That's the way I learned how valuable it is to always be nice as pie to HMRC people.

I have seen some as pending… I have also seen some was issued 11th… waiting game now

Mine is still pending. It will be the back end of next week now

Mines has bounced back again third time rechecked return perfect im giving it one last go then phoning. I dont know if bouncing some back due to how inundated they are.

It's likely to be due to one of these exceptions.  Just trying to claim again and again without solving the root cause is pointless.

Im going to call nxt week when open as i dont see anything wrong with return

I had to request repayment again- it bounced back once. But when I requested the second time it has gone through fine and says bank repayment pending.
