Just completed my self assessment, different from last year as I now have to log back in in 72 hours to confirm identity?
Anyone explain this, thanks.

Mine asked the same. Pretty annoying its asking for info from my credit report which is fine, but the either asks for a valid passport (mines out of date) or a Northern Ireland drivers licence - Not sure why it doesn't ask for a UK Mainland one
Looks like I will need to join a phone que to try and identify myself.0 -
Well at least you have until 31st Jan 23 to get through.

Phoning as soon as lines open usually works. That way you are at the front of the queue.
Start dialling just before the time.0 -
Mine took 36 hours. The ID checks are ridiculous, as you are only given 3 options, one of which is a NI driving license. You CAN bypass this by calling the self assessment team (0300 200 3310), and explaining to them that you are unable to verify your ID online and ask them to make a manual payment, which they will do there and then. You will need your bank details to hand, and also your UTR and NI number.
