Utility point final bill
Does anyone know how long it will take to get my final bill from utility point? They took over my supply on 28.8.21 until EDF took over on 30.11.21 and I have never received any bills for that period. Now EDF has billed me and added a debit of £160 carried from UP. I don't know how I could owe this much especially when UP takes payment in advance. Should I take it to the ombudsman?

You can only take it to the ombudsman if you have evidence that something has gone wrong, and EDF refuse to put it right - but you don't seem to have that?
If EDF have now added a debit, that must mean your final bill has been produced. Is it available in your UP account?0 -
If UP has reported that debt as a result of their final bill you cannot really complain about EDF, it would be UP who is in the wrong.
OFEGM will not deal with it as UP is no longer an energy supplier.
How do you get to the conclusion that the 160£ is wrong, have you calculated your use or are you just feeling it is to high?
Can you provide the following details
- meter readings for gas and electricity for 28/02/2021 and 30/11/2021
- standing charges for gas and electricity
- unit rates for gas and electricity (were you on a fixed rate? otherwise there will be different rates during the time)
- total amount you paid by direct debit

Sorry, I didn't want to complain about EDF, it's the fact I have not received a final bill yet from UP, in fact I have no bills from them at all, so unsure what the unit rates are to able to check if the debit is correct or not. I'm planning to get in touch with my old supplier to get my final reads from them and see if I can work it out, however unsure what date to take this up to, is it the 18.9.21 when UP stopped trading, or 30.11.21 when EDF took over?0

If a final bill has been produced there will be an uploaded copy on your EDF account. Give them a ring & they will be able to email you a copy of it1

It is not possible to log into a Utility Point account as they have closed their website
I am still waiting for a final bill from them or via EDF
EDF sent me a first bill 2 weeks ago and they have estimated my meter readings from 19 November 2021 but have included a credit from Utility Point so unsure how can work this out if they have not been given a final bill from Utility Point
EDF have also only made standing charges from 19 November 2021 and not from September when they took over my account0 -
If EDF have transferred credit from a final UP bill, then there will be a final bill. Contact EDF & get a copy sent to you. The reason you were only charged standing charge from 19 Nov is because that will be the date you were set up on EDF systems from. The usage & s/c between UP going bust being set up on EDF systems will be on your final UP billnicetea said:It is not possible to log into a Utility Point account as they have closed their website
