Here in Lincolnshire we have signs outside small holdings and farms etc asking you to just take the wood away.

Buy wood kiln dried or seasoned in bulk. Plenty of nationwide companies or some probably local to you. WE use 3cubic meters every winter - approx. £300. Having a log burner is a luxury and not cheap anymore, unless you forage for wood in the wild but you need to know what wood it is as some cannot be used in a burner and then you will need to season/dry for anything from 1-2 years depending what wood it is.Mortgage balance as of 21.7.21 - £75,766.
