No, why would you need to get an insurance to enrol on a course? Do you need an insurance for every action in your life? You buy a service and if you do not get it you get the money back. They have agreed to the refund btw.

Tell them you are entitled to go and if they are banning you from coming then you expect them to refund otherwise you’ll see them in court.

morally I don’t think you should go but if THEY ban you then I agree they should refund.

    how did you pay?

  • No need to isolate if you test positive. It's just recommended that you avoid crowded areas if you go out and wear a face covering if you need to mix with other people.

I was told that as per gov guidelines I would not be allowed to attend because it is a requirement to have two consecutive negative tests after 5 days from day 1 which would have taken me to Sunday.

Not in England. England Guidance (not law) says that you should (but don't have to) isolate for 5 days and stay away from vulnerable people for 10 days. There is no longer any mention of testing at all.

If you are not feeling ill, it may be worth calling their bluff and say that without a refund you will attend. It may focus their minds on refunding you a bit clearer.

I would be very tempted to simply tell them on Friday that you were now ok, particularly as you have no symptoms.
This is reckless, and could end up killing someone.

That’s government policy. It has been established, as we learn more about covid, that you are most infectious in the days before testing positive and the first few days of infection. I agree the risk is still present.
