Shed - wish we'd never bothered!

Before I start, I know this isn't very MSE, but we are replacing our decent garden shed with new one, which will be delivered and built by the manufacturer. Reason being we are now in our mid/late 60s and, while fit and healthy, we choose not to haul lumps of wood around if we don't have to. Not changing it now is just kicking the can down the road for another 10 years, at which point we really won't want to be bothered!
The old shed is over 12 years old, but solid and fixed by screws rather than just nailed together. Rather than just skip it, we asked on our local website if anyone wanted it. Free, but taker to dismantle, remove and re-erect in its new home. Roll of roof felt and can of wood preservative thrown in. We received a 'yes' almost straight away - from a lady who said she wanted it as a playhouse for her young children. We told her that it would be available to collect from X date, at which point the wheels came off... she's a single mum, so the least we can do is deliver the shed and put it up for her! Told her that that was not an option, but now can't get rid of her. Our last message said that if she or no-one else wanted it, as per our offer, then it would be dismantled and skipped by X date. Well, I never knew that mums could use such language ! At least she doesn't know our address - I hope !

I find that’s typical of these sites you offer something for free and then they want delivery etc Better off asking a small amount, then any response will be because they want it. NOt a gimme for nothing type.4

It's very noticeable around here, lots of begging for free things, must be able to deliver.
But when people are selling stuff they want 99% of the cost of new, or in some cases more because they paid more.
It's bizarre but entertaining sometimes2 -
Silvertabby, do you have an allotment site near you? Or at least one that allows sheds? Give them a ring or send an email, and asked them to circulate members. Ask for a tenner, and your hand will be bitten off.
Ours was actually delivered by two guys who were doing some garden work and asked to take it to the tip. They happened to drive by the site and called in. We only had a tenner on us but they were chuffed to reduce their disposal charges. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing3 -

Thanks - will give that a try. It wasn't a cheap shed (8X6 Forest), and I'd rather someone have use of it than just chuck it.

with a van would take the bits down to our local dump.
The company we are buying our new shed from would dismantle and remove it - for £250!0 -
if you do ebay that may be worth a try, the photos may get people interested.1
