Returns policy for Jewellery

Hi
I am in the midst of setting up an e-commerce Jewellery and Hair business. I am going to start with selling earrings and wanted to understand the rights consumers have. With the packaging, the earrings will be placed in cellophane bags that have a seal, then placed into an organza bag which will then be placed into a poly bag for postage.
Do I have the right to state that earrings can't be refunded if they cellophane bag has been opened? my only concern is, with cellophane bags if opened gently they can be resealed but I do not have much capital to start so keeping everything basic.
Thank you

You probably do have that right, but you can't rely on my word or the word of anyone else on t'internet for that. You really should get your T&C checked over by a solicitor - consider whether you can afford NOT to do so!
Would a device for heat sealing bags do a better job?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Most companies don’t do returns on jewellery for piercings, regardless of whether packaging has been opened or not. Or are these clip ons?0

I think if you're selling online then your buyers will have the right to return the earrings within 14 days, for any reason - this previous thread has info. A website T&Cs can't override the law.

I have personally returned (unworn) earrings bought online for no reason other than the fact I didn't like them.0 -

The law says items bought away from the retailers premises can be returned with a few exception of which earrings are not one. The law does give a carve out on the grounds of hygiene but that can only be used when the items are sent with a "hygiene seal" and that seal has been broken/removed.0
