Scottish Power Smart Meter/Usage
Hi guys, have had a SP smart meter for over a year, it sits in the kitchen and don’t really take much notice of it.
I am on their standard tariff. I wake up in the morning and there’s something like 68p showing on it as of Friday morning…..is this the standing charge for gas and electric?
Reason I ask is since Friday I have been taking a bit of notice of it. As Friday and Sunday were colder we had the central heating on…. I can’t vouch for Friday as I didn’t look, but I know for a fact when I went to bed Sunday eve at just gone 10pm the smart meter was showing £2.97 total cost for that day.
The heating is turned on and off manually as needed and on Sunday was turned off at probably 9pm.
I have just had a look at the SP app and it tells you what your usage is each day, Sunday is showing that I used £4.92 of combined power. How is this so? It is the EXACT same price for Friday too. Both days are the same cost and show used the exact same power down to 2 decimal units, 39.83 kWh…. This can’t be correct surely? The chance of using the same power on 2 days is impossible isn’t it.There’s only the normal stuff that’s left on standby so that wouldn’t use £2 in under 2 hours….Do they add charges on just before midnight?
Saturday and Yesterday we were out all day so no heating was on at all and the charges for those 2 days is £2.19 and £2.09. The only gas used on those 2 days would of been combi boiler for hot water.
