Over three million Brits saved on their passport applications by applying online instead of by post last year – but more than half a million missed out, MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE) can reveal.

just renewed our passports (£75.50) using the online facility, very easy, much simpler than the paper version. Photo from a supermarket booth, cost £8. Photo's have a unique access code that you input on the passport form, also a copy of your driving licence. they want you to send back the old passport too. at each stage you get SMS or texts keeping you up to date on progress. Took only 2 weeks from start to finish.1
