Definitely worth your husband getting it one so on the odd occasions when you are away and can get the bus. At least that way it will only be you having to pay so halves the cost. My DH got his bus pass before me so when we used to go to the P&R I just used to buy a day rider ticket which, from memory, was £6.50 which included as many buses as you wanted to use so very good value. Not sure how much they are now though as that was about 4 or 5 years ago.

My wellies have sprung a leak and I don’t think I can repair them this time. I have stuck them together several times but this is probably the end, although I am going to fill them with compost and grow some herbs in them! I walk the dog twice a day through the fields which are beginning to get very muddy, so I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and get some new ones. I have found in the past that cheap wellies are a false economy, so I am going to have to do some research to find a decent pair at a good price. I mostly work from home and I don’t have to have an extensive work wardrobe thank goodness. I live in jeans and I pop on a decent top for any Zoom meetings, taking it off straight after the meeting and hanging it back up. I do love good quality clothes though and I am a fan of Vinted where you can get items at a fraction of the original price. I don’t have a huge wardrobe, just a few good pieces that I can mix and match. I tend to go for comfort over fashion these days and I wear and repair until they are literally beyond even wearing to work on the allotment. I have a couple of decent dresses for going out or face to face work meetings. They are very plain and I change the look of them with statement necklaces or scarves. I hate ironing with a passion, so I make sure that clothes are made of a material that will look fine taken out the washing machine and hung up on a hanger to dry, with creases dropping out naturally. It took a long time to find my ‘style’ but now I am happy when I find something that will fit in with the other clothes I have.Frugal Living – Washed all the van’s seat covers and dried in front of wood burner. Ate out of the fridge & pantry. £39.67 put into Emergency Fund.Money Saving – Find your local refill shop. I have saved so much money since I found our local shop. Herbs & spices are so much cheaper (although I also use the Asian Supermarket to buy in bulk those that I use a lot, such as cumin and ground coriander). You can buy just the right quantity of an ingredient for a recipe to save waste. Their cleaning products are cheaper and tend to be more eco friendly. I find most things such as nuts, lentils, pulses, rice, pasta, flour, vegetable stock etc are cheaper than the supermarkets. I don’t take jars to refill as they are heavy to carry, I take various sized zipped silicon bags that I got cheap from Amazon and decant when I get home. You are also helping support a small business and I love the look of my pantry full of jars rather than plastic bags.Today’s Menu –Tiger roll with plant based Boursin with sautéed mushrooms (odd combination as using things up, tasted great though)Cheese and Cucumber RollReceived some sad news, so lost appetite for anything else.Debt 04/11/22 - £0.00

They are pricey but should last you years so a good investment and means that cost per wear works out very small.0 -
Hi having gone through the wellie issue I recommend Dunlop. Basic, but wear really well and great value. Try Scr*wfix or similar for a good price. V xx0

Today was a bit of a downer. I lost a really lovely family member yesterday and today is a year since I had to make the hardest decision ever, to say goodbye to my beloved dog. Someone sent a beautiful message saying that death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, but love leaves a memory that no one can steal.I spent the day hanging round the hospital waiting and didn’t have the foresight to take anything to eat or drink so ended up buying a McPlant meal, which disappoints every single time.Tomorrow will be better, I am certain.Frugal Living – spent £5.49Todays Menu –McDonaldsChocolate bar – not the healthiest days food!Money Saving – I haven’t bought kitchen roll for years. I have a small basket hanging in the kitchen full of old flannels, cut up old towels, old Eco friendly cloths (remember when they were a fashion? I don’t buy them anymore), old cut up tea towels etc. They are ready to grab for spills, useful for wiping down and reusing something that would normally be chucked. I have a bin in the bathroom that they go in when used and when the bin is full, they are washed at 60 degrees, air dried and are ready to use again. When they are beyond use any that are 100% cotton are composted. I used to use a roll a week and going by Asda prices at £1.25 a roll that’s a yearly saving of £65Debt 04/11/22 - £0.00
