My 93 year old friends tries to keep up, she really does. She asked me to set her up with a new mobile which I did and she used it, charger in the kitchen
A few weeks later she informed me that it was so useful that she had bought another one the same to use in the loungeLove living in a village in the country side6 -
Now that really did make me laugh out loud
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

plus what if her friends are still there & have similar issues? But they said they were fine & stayed the remaining 2 nights (so 3 nights in total).
The best you could try to do is write a letter to Premier Inn and ask for a gesture, due to a ruined holiday/break.
You could also say you'll be also contacting several consumer magazines/organizations to ask what further can be done, as you feel your complaint has not been taken seriously enough. You can only try to get some compensation. However, Premier Inn are not responsible for a guests actions.
It does sound a very traumatic experience.

By the way, your inlaws could have called 999 from their mobile, it would have used whatever network it could grab for an emergency call, its unlikely none had reception at all.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.1
