Brush device to go in gutter - any good?

There's a length of gutter on the top floor of our old Victorian house, about 5 metres long with a downpipe in the centre. The gutter tends to fill up with moss and bits of stick and shells etc caused by birds on the roof (it's at the seaside). The downpipe got totally blocked recently and I'm wondering if, having now…

I had those downpipe filters mentioned above in my gutters, the balloon type things, we're surrounded by trees and after every good wind & rain they blocked with leaves. Sometimes they had to be removed and cleaned every month or two. So I experimented with hedgehogs in the gutters that are easy to get to. So far I've found that they have to come out to remove all the debris every few months, not much of an improvement I'm afraid.

Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
