Debt Recovery Plus breaking the new rules? What can be done?

According to the Governments own Website, the rules for Parking Charge Notices have changed, and include Debt Recovery companies being 'banned from adding additional excess fees to the level of the parking charge'. If this is the case, why have these clowns not been taken to task?

Our original 'fine' from Euro Car Parks was £30 if paid within 28 days or £60 thereafter. After ignoring Euro Car Parks' follow up letters, they enlisted DRP to extort money from us, and are now claiming we 'owe' £170.00. I have no intention of paying (I've been through this 4 times with other PCN companies and not paid a penny), but why are they still after their own slice of the cake if they're banned from doing so?

They aren't yet.  The new Code will be implemented over a 20 month period until 31/12/23.

But effectively no Judge will allow the added fake costs now!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The new rules as you call them are not actually in force yet, but you are quite right that the government has said the fake add on debt recovery charges are, well, fake and not allowed.

The BPA told all its members recently at a conference that they should not wait for the new CoP to come into force, but to begin complying with it with immediate effect. You should complain to the BPA that their member Euro Car Parks Ltd has failed to do this.
You can either ignore DRP or send them an FRO instruction, reminding them of what the government has said about their attempted extortion.

Because the government code of practice, whilst banning the fakes, and actually is the law ...... it will not be enacted until late 23
That is something to talk to your MP about ?

DRP are only sewer dwellers without clout and to be ignored.
NEVER CONTACT DRP AS THEY ARE POWERLESS

DRP are BPA members who approve and allow their members to fake it.

It is about time government kicked the BPA into the log grass ..... Shameless set up

Thanks. You know, in a perverted way, I'm actually hoping it goes to court so I can counter sue when the beak throws it out!!

I'll just string them along for a while. It's fun seeing the depths they stoop to. My first letter from DRP was dated 21st Feb saying I had 7 days to cough up. Funny that coz I've just received another saying the same!

We all agree.   It would be a good idea to charge the PPC's £10 per request.   This means the DVLA could buy more booze for their XMAS party
