Help! Moving and can't getb through to supplier
Hi all, I need some advice please. I am about to move in to an property with a smart electric meter and a card prepayment gas meter. The current supplier is OVO. I can't get through on the phone and their website moving in process just diverts to Boost, who just display a page saying sorry, we can't give you a quote. There is no email contact and no telephone number, just an automated webchat that send me round in circles telling me I need to contact their customer care team with my details, but when I ask how to do that, it tells me email contact is closed and to use webchat. I'm in an infinite loop.
I have always had a traditional credit meter and I have no idea what to do. I'm terrified I'm going to move my family in at the weekend and we'll have no gas or electricity because we don't have an account to top up. I can't get through to my existing supplier at the house we're leaving either.

For the Electric read the meter on the day, take a photo and write if all else fails
For the Gas you must get a key in your name - do not use any old lying around that may be carrying the pervious occupiers debt.
You don't need to get into contact with the supplier at your present house until you move out. Then read the meters, take the photos . Who are the suppliers ?
You new house is the important one.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
I've sorted the old address out. They've told me it's actually Eon Next (gas) and EDF (electric) at the new property. But I can't get through to anyone to set up a new account with either supplier. The online chat tells you to get an online quote. Then it says no tarrifs available. It's an endless loop. I just want to register an account in my name so I can top up and receive a supply. I'm tearing my hair out. I'me envisagihg moving in and having no gas or electricity and being unable to do anything about it.0

I know I need a key, but how am I supposed to get one? I can't get through to either supplier and automated chat is no help whatsoever. It just tells me what I already know - that I need to register for an account.0

Gas and Electric will be available when you move in - that's the way the system works.
As above Electric is no problem.
The challenge may well be the Gas - you need that new key. What number you are ringingcccccccccc

I'm not sure the previous tenant has notified them she has moved out. Managed eventually to get through to EDF. She owes them money. Got that one sorted now, but no further forward with EON. I have emailed them and tweeted them. Hoping for the best.0
